I have been trying to find a time to post my blog but it has been very difficult to follow Wendy's pieces. First the piece about our mothers and the blooms and then the September 11th remembrance. Very emotional, very moving for me to follow with my glib, light-hearted banter.
Now that enough time has gone by from those postings I can report the following: Wendy is still extremely busy with her next suspense previously named Dying Light. As you know, due to publisher considerations the title was changed to Dead Before Dark and she hopes to have the first draft completed shortly. She will also have some other news to report to you all soon as well (especially for you Wendy Markham fans!).
My daily life is finally back to the school year routine but I must tell you about the Whiskey Cruise I went on the other night. For my milestone birthday this summer (remember those stories?), my friend gave me a night cruising Manhattan on "The Temptress" a beautiful ship filled with the finest whiskeys from all over the world. He also provided a hotel room for us so we wouldn't have to make a long trek back to the suburbs. The banner below is from the Whiskey Guild which presented the evening.

While we were sailing around the island of Manhattan, drinking wonderful single malts and smoking cigars, we had a chance to see the blue lights over the World Trade Center in remembrance of September 11th. This was the first time I had seen the lights in person. Again, an moving experience. We also saw an up close look at the Statue of Liberty and the waterfall under the Brooklyn Bridge. A night to remember, if only I could.
