Ten years after the catastrophe, a great fallen city has risen again. Ten years after, a horror begins anew…or never truly ended.
The nightmare of 9/11 is a distant but still painful memory for Allison Taylor MacKenna—now married to Mack and living in a quiet Westchester suburb. She has moved on with her life ten years after barely escaping death at the hands of New York’s Nightwatcher serial killer. The monster is dead, having recently committed suicide…

Whenever someone holds a 50-50 raffle during halftime or intermission, I might buy a chance, but I consider it a charitable contribution because chances are I’ll be on the long line for the ladies’ room when they call the winner.
I’ve been to Vegas twice, once to celebrate my fortieth birthday, and once the following year on a book tour after I wrote a novel set in Vegas just so that I'd have an excuse to go back. It was pretty cool to see my name on the marquee along the Strip...…

As the city sleeps in the early hours of September 10, 2001, the killer waits and watches, unaware of the cataclysm to come. Even the nightmare of 9/11 will not postpone his private reign of terror.
Allison Taylor adores her adopted city, New York, loving every minute of the invigorating urban hustle. But on a bright and clear September morning, the familiar landscape around her is savagely altered—and in the midst of widespread chaos and fear, a woman living upstairs from her is found, brutally slaughtered and mutilated.
For Allison…for her neighbor, James “Mack” MacKenna, desperately searching for news of his missing wife…for homicide detective Rocky Manzillo, hunting for a monster amid the smoking ruins of a devastated city, this tragic day will hold a special horror. Because a different kind of terror has entered their lives…and it’s coming to claim Allison Taylor as its next victim.…

Last night, I was supposed to greet the New Year at my cousin Katie's 40th birthday party at a ski lodge upstate, surrounded by hometown family and friends. But with an unmet book deadline looming, and no success trying to finish it in my hometown over Christmas, 450 miles away from my desk, I had no choice but to cancel New Year's plans at the last minute. My husband, sons and I made the long road trip back home two days ago.
As the miles fell between us and my hometown, I alternated between relief that I would soon find the solitude necessary to write the last chapters of this book, and disappointment that we'd miss the big party. Last night, after a long day at my desk, I went out with Mark and our boys to an early dinner. Then we dropped our older son at a party to which we had also been invited. In the interest of getting up early to work, I had declined the invitation. Mark and I watched the ball drop snuggled on the couch with our younger son…

I'm sharing here the text of an interview I did last week with Diane Morasco of Blogcritics. The link to the original article is at the end:
It’s that time of year when the chill in the frosty air brings us indoors to hunker down with thick comforters and mugs of steaming hot chocolate overflowing with fluffy marshmallows. When holiday music and movies become the soundtrack to our everyday home lives. When we gather ‘round the fire for company, drink, food and love. When we are celebrating and remembering those we treasure and hold near and dear. When the real meaning of the season is family – by our DNA or by our heart. When we reflect and give thanks for all we have. In a nutshell, unconditional love.
I’d like to welcome Wendy Corsi Staub to share the beauty of the season with…
